ADVANCE NOTICE
NEW YEAR’S EVE
11.55pm ‘Ringing in’ & Prayers for New Year

A big ‘thank you’ to all those who have helped to decorate the church so beautifully for the coming celebrations. The decorations were up just in time for the Primary School’s Christmas Service on Friday. You will also have noticed that the Pew in the Porch has been refurbished. We thank those who want to remain anonymous and yet have been involved with the restoration.

Hopefully you will have received a letter on St. George’s Church, Baghdad, as you came in this morning? Peter Marsden, who represents the ‘Foundation for Relief & Reconciliation in the Middle East’ has written to us personally with an update on life in Iraq. David Post has also put up a fresh notice in the Hall, which you might wish to look at over coffee?

We are looking forwards to our ‘Nativity around the village’ at 5.00pm on Christmas Eve. All children are welcome to take part and dress up as shepherds, angels and wise men. Please see Linda Patrick or Julia Weeks if you, or someone you know, would like to take part. The ‘cast’ need to be in the Hall by 4.15pm.

You will see that the ‘minute hand’ of the clock has been replaced, just in time to mark the start of a new year! Thanks to ‘Smith’s of Derby’ and ‘Grandstand Scaffolding’ for their work.

Charles Patrick, Rector.
